Venture out to downtown Everett to Schack Art Center, offering admission-free exhibit galleries, open six days a week. While closed on Mondays, come out any other day of the week for diverse art pieces from local and international artists. You can also see emerging young talented artists and watch professional glassblowers working in the hot shop. Check out the current exhibits for a fresh variety of talent showcased monthly.  Stop in at the gallery store for stunning locally made gifts of art from over 200 Pacific Northwest-based artists.

Classes

Learn something new or bring your artistic skills to the next level by taking an art class at Schack. Offering youth art classes for 12 and under and teen classes, the center offers an opportunity for everyone young and old. Take up a fun ceramics class or learn blending techniques through collage formation. You can even browse through courses based on the desired medium you would like to work with. There are also Zoom classes offered online for those that can’t make it out to Schack. Exhibits

Take a walk around the monthly exhibits offered at Schack Art Center. Beginning September 23 and running through November 6, explore the Schacktoberfest Glass Pumpkin Patch. Pick and even have the opportunity to purchase your favorite glass pumpkin at this festive patch. There will be over 900 pumpkins on display hand-crafted from the Schack glassblowing studio, something you will have to see to truly appreciate. Aside from beautifully sculpted blown glass, browse through some festive fall paintings, pottery and gifts offered at this exhibit. Go online for a complete list of upcoming and current exhibits. Admission to view the exhibits is free.

Events

Check out the Artists’ Garage Sale on September 25 for incredible bargains on old and new pieces. Stop by from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with free admission and see the beautifully unique glass, ceramics, watercolors, oils, acrylics, photography, garden and even recycled art. All pieces are reasonably priced, and this opportunity only comes once a year right out front of Schack Art Center. With over 100 artists participating, you are sure to find something you love and at a great rate. Cash is king, so be sure to come prepared to snag your favorites. Some artists accept credit/debit card payments, but cash is preferred. Beat the crowds and get there early for the best finds or come later for some of the best deals. Street parking is free on weekends in downtown Everett and free weekend parking is also available at Everpark Garage just one block north of Shack. Go online for full event details.
