Snohomish County’s art walks are among the region’s most accessible ways to experience local creativity year-round. Spread across three cities, these recurring events transform downtown streets, galleries, and small businesses into vibrant, walkable art experiences. While each art walk shares a similar spirit, supporting artists and activating community spaces, each has its own rhythm, size, and personality.
Art walks have become a strong community draw, bringing people out to support and encourage local artists in their creative work. Several cities offer lively art walks once a month, bringing people downtown to socialize with friends and meet and interact with artists. They are fun community events that bring sales and recognition to small, local businesses.
Summer months are the high point of the art walk calendar when beautiful weather allows for open doors, flower-filled sidewalks, patio dinners and sidewalk performances.
Edmonds Art Walk
Edmonds Art Walk is celebrated on the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 8 p.m. in Downtown Edmonds.
Edmonds was proudly the first city to be crowned the first Certified Creative District in the State of Washington in 2018.
The Edmonds art walk is one of the largest and longest-running art walks in Snohomish County. Not only does it cover the quaint downtown area, but large murals and permanent art installations add to the atmosphere.
Small local businesses display rotating artists each month in their shops, boutiques, salons and bistros, allowing a change of scenery and decor every month starting on the first day of the month. On the third Thursday, each participating business stays open late for the public to openly browse their artwork.
The Cascadia Art Museum waives its usual ticket fee for a free evening open to everyone.
Artists are often there answering questions and sometimes giving demonstrations. Dozens of businesses participate regularly, and the event extends across a walkable downtown core near the beautiful waterfront.
In June and August, Art Walk Edmonds offers tickets for wine walks. Participants buy tickets and receive 10 1-oz wine tastings. These are popular evenings and can draw 600+ crowds. Proceeds help fund the wine walk administration for the rest of the year.
Everett Art Walk
Everett Art Walk is celebrated on the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 9 p.m. in Downtown Everett.
Centered around Hwitt Avenue, a map of participating venues can be found here. The walk features a mix of galleries, artist lofts, coffee shops, and creative spaces. Artists showcase everything from traditional paintings and ceramics to experimental installations and live performances.
A dozen or more venues open for the art walk, often including live music, hands-on art activities, and pop-up exhibitions all within walking distance of each other.
Everett’s art walk is set apart from other cities by its creative diversity. With anchors like the Schack Art Center and multiple other working studios, it has a quirky “arts district” vibe with a sculpture walk to boot.
Snohomish Art Walk
The Snohomish Art Walk offers a more grassroots, small-town experience and is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of each month from 5 to 8 p.m. throughout Historic Downtown Snohomish.
Unlike Edmonds or Everett, this event is intentionally informal and community-driven. There is no single organizer—businesses independently choose artists to feature, and participation can change month to month.
Expect a relaxed evening wandering through shops, salons, galleries, yoga studios and cafés. Many locations offer small bites or drinks, and artists are often present to discuss their work.
The Snohomish Art Walk has roughly a dozen local businesses. The number of participating venues varies each month, adding variety to the walks with no two being the same.
This event is perfect for those who enjoy a slower pace and a more intimate connection with artists and local businesses in a pretty, historic, Americana town. Check the interactive map on the day of the event for the most up-to-date participating locations.
