Boasting two fun-filled ports in Edmonds and Everett, Snohomish County’s ports have plenty of activities to keep the entire family going all summer long. Delicious eats, adventurous excursions, and plenty of places to explore and enjoy downtime await you in the lovely seaside ports of Edmonds and Everett.

Port of Edmonds

Eat

Freshly roasted coffee at Waterfront Coffee Company, within feet of the beach, will be a perfect starting point for your summer adventure. Fully stocked with pastries and boasting a yummy selection of ice creams in summer flavors, Waterfront Coffee Company is sure to delight. Parents toting sandy buckets and shovels will love the baby cones offered to kids while they enjoy an iced coffee for a quick refresh. Four-legged family members are also welcome. Enjoy a casual lunch or dinner at Anthony’s Beach Café. Perfect for the whole family, Anthony’s Beach Café features relaxed cuisine inspired by the Northwest and fun beachy cocktails. Littles can enjoy the sandbox located on the sunny patio while adults soak up the views of the Olympic Mountains and the vibrant Edmonds Marina. Date night dinner options are available upstairs at Anthony Homeport Edmonds. With gorgeous sunset views and surf and turf menu options, Anthony’s is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy.

Home to a diverse array of marine life, visitors can enjoy sea lions, harbor seals, and river otters. Lucky visitors may even get a glimpse of orca pods traveling through Puget Sound waters. Visit during low tide and enjoy the vibrant colors of starfish, get sprayed by geoducks, or touch the rubbery egg encasements of sea snails. Visit Edmonds Underwater Park and watch the scuba divers preparing for sea-bottom adventures. Take in the vibrant marina action down by the docks or gaze at the ferry boat traversing the waters between Edmonds and the Kingston, located on the Kitsap Peninsula.

Do

Enjoy a leisurely boardwalk stroll from Bracket’s Landing to Marina Beach Park. This 2.8-mile out-and-back trail is paved most of the way and offers beautiful views of the marina and coastline. Ice cream and coffee options are available along the way. Bring the whole family and enjoy the afternoon at Marina Beach Park. Picnic, build a sandcastle, or play a pick-up game of beach volleyball. Don’t forget to bring the pup to romp around in the waterfront dog park. Kids will love the oversized playground equipment, while adults take in waterfront and mountain views. 

For the more adventurous in your crew, try your hand at sea kayaking. Easy rental options are available through Kayak Share at Marina Beach Park. Charter a fishing expedition and fish for Salmon, Flounder, or Cod, or bring your own pole and fish directly from the Edmonds Pier.

Port of Everett

Eat

Start your day with a specialty latte and sweet treat at the South Fork Baking Co.  Try the Bee’s Knees Latte or Café Cubano Cold Foam, or sink your teeth into a homemade honey bun or maple bacon scone. For a unique seaside dining experience, enjoy Asian seafood fusion fare at Fisherman Jack’s right next door. After dinner, head over to Muse Whisky Bar and Coffee Shop in the historic Weyerhaeuser Building. This 100-year-old location speaks to simpler times and relaxed yet refined vibes.

Go birding at Jetty Island, a short ferry trip from Everett. Home to over 45 species of sea-loving birds, Jetty Island is a birder’s paradise. Drop in for some seaside tunes at the Music of the Marina Concert Series, or catch a flick at the Sail-In Cinema. Boaters and non-boaters alike will love these unique seaside venues.

Do

Walk the Baywood Nature Trail up to the Evergreen Arboretum and bask in the views from this lofty vantage point. Buzz on over to Jetty Island. Enjoy this two-mile-long manmade beach off the coast of Everett. While visiting sunny Jetty Island, picnic, splash in the water or take a kiteboarding lesson through Urban Surf. For the history and cultural buffs in your crew, enjoy a Historic Harbor Tour and learn about the first people who populated this area and the sawmills and lumber history that put Everett on the map.
