Snohomish County PUD recently announced the hiring of Colin Willenbrock as General Counsel. Willenbrock comes to Snohomish PUD from Pend Oreille PUD, where he was most recently General Manager.
“We are excited to have Colin join our team and bring his legal, utility and leadership experience to the PUD,” said John Haarlow, Snohomish PUD CEO/General Manager. “Colin has extensive experience in public power and has deep knowledge of the challenges and opportunities we face.”
Willenbrock’s first day at the PUD will be March 1. In his new position, he will lead the PUD’s legal services division and information governance team.
“Snohomish PUD is a leader in public power, and I’m excited to work with an incredibly bright team that is setting the tone for the industry,” said Willenbrock.
Willenbrock replaces Anne Spangler as Snohomish PUD’s General Counsel. Spangler retired in November after serving as the PUD’s General Counsel since 2008.
Before being named Pend Oreille PUD’s General Manager in 2015, Willenbrock served as the utility’s General Counsel and Assistant General Manager of Power Production. During his tenure, Willenbrock managed the completion of Pend Oreille’s multi-million-dollar Box Canyon plant modernization project and the negotiation of the amendment to the 2005 FERC license.
Willenbrock earned a Juris Doctor with honors from Gonzaga University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Redlands.
